Tell  me if this sounds like you:

You want more money and more freedom in both your life and your business.

You need self employment to NOT be so overwhelming - you're ready for less stress and worry.

You have a hard time figuring all this stuff out for yourself.

You're over trying to keep up with social media.

You're tired of feeling like a failure.

You wish there was a way to get your business off the ground in the fastest way possible.

If that's you, I have GREAT news.

I help my clients with those same problems, every single day.

And if you're like any of them, you've probably made some of the same mistakes.

Mistakes like...

Mistake #1:

Going into debt for a space, equipment, or supplies when you're just starting out.

If you're starting from square one like I did, with no clients, no supplies, no equipment, and no cash - the absolute worst thing you can do is start out in debt to get those things. Trust me, I wanted the high-end brick salon with the fancy lights, but it just wasn't worth my peace of mind to owe every penny I made to someone else for the foreseeable future. I wanted the freedom of owning my own business, not the slavery of working to pay the credit card bill.

That's the equivalent of paying someone else for you to do all the work. It just doesn't work out in your favor, neither in the short term, nor the long term.

It won't be easy, but it is possible to start with nothing and end up with everything you want, without going into debt for it.

If you're starting from zero, start at zero - not UNDER zero.

Mistake #2:

Thinking the only way to make more money is to get more clients.

It's an easy conclusion to make when you're sitting in the salon worried to death about how you're going to pay your bills this month. "If I'm slow, I need more clients."

But that's not always the the case. What is a client, anyway? Someone who has sat in your chair before and paid for a service.

You'll know you need more clients when you're sitting for weeks on end. A slow day, a slow week, or even a slow month doesn't necessarily mean you need to go out searching for new business. It *could* mean that you're not profitable to begin with and need to raise your prices. It could also mean that you've raised your prices without a plan, and now th
at (lack of a) plan is backfiring. But what it most likely means is this:

You haven't been putting your efforts into client retention strategies, referral strategies, or appreciation campaigns.

It's 10x more expensive to get a new client than it is to keep one, in terms of time and money.

Mistake #3:

Thinking, "My clients can't afford higher prices."

If you're in a small town where the barber shop down the street is still doing $10 haircuts on Saturdays, it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking "That's all people will pay. Ten bucks."

But that's simply not true - it's just a belief.

Those folks that are paying $10 for a haircut might think that's what a haircut is worth. But they're still carrying around a $1600 iPhone. They're driving a $60,000 SUV. They're paying upwards of $100 for a decent dinner at the local steakhouse.

And they're not even complaining about it.

But you know what they say, "You get what you pay for." How many of those barber shop clients stick around, and how many travel to the nearest big city and pay $50 for a better haircut?

It's never about the money. Don't assume your clients can't afford it because you live in a small town, or Great Gaps does it cheaper down the street.

Level up your value and you'll level up your income. Your clients absolutely can afford it.

Mistake #4:

Desperately posting for new clients without an actual plan.

Other coaches and educators tell you, "Just post pics of your work and your availability and you'll get clients! Be consistent!"

... and so you do, and then wonder where all the clients are. Doing bad things consistently is a recipe for insanity, and it creates a downward spiral of self-doubt.

Here's why that's the wrong kind of thinking: when you're desperate for clients, it shows. And even if posting before and after photos falls somewhere in your marketing plan, chances are, it's not going to be enough to get a butt in your seat. It's just not compelling enough on its own to get a paying client that's never even heard of you before.

So first thing's first: have a plan to get new clients. Your plan shouldn't be a fly-by-night posting binge-fest borne out of desperation for money and business.

It needs to be a planned thing, way in advance of you actually *needing* new clients. And when you do post on socials, you need a plan for that, too.

Mistake #5:

Not having set business hours.

The Trap: I'm self employed! I can work whenever I want! Freedom!

...and one of two things happen. You're either always working, or never available to work.

The Mouse in the trap: Probably you.

Chances are, if you're reading this, it's a little of both. You swing back and forth between needing money and cramming as many people in as possible in a short amount of time, and getting so exhausted you then set your boundary walls a little high and take too much time out for yourself, turning down work in the process.

It's actually easier on your stress levels and your clients if you'll just decide when you're going to work - and actually work during those hours.

Now, that may sound dogmatic, like you're losing your freedom here, but don't miss me -

You still get to set your own schedule. You decide how many days you'll work, and how many hours each day.

But by having set business hours - even if you're not actively working on clients - you're building in time to get yourself out of that rollercoaster of too many clients/not enough clients, and your income stabilizes along with your stress levels.

Mistake #6:

Keeping toxic clients around because you need the money.

Ever had a client you know you should have fired a long time ago, but you just keep rebooking her because she's paying you?

That's because you think you're doing yourself a favor, but in reality, you're actually hurting yourself and your business.

Here's why:

Toxic clients bring more drama and more toxic clients with them. Like attracts like. By choosing the money over your boundaries, you're acting out of alignment with your policies (probably) and your values (absolutely). And when you're acting out of alignment, you're allowing things to happen that rub you the wrong way.

We've all kept a toxic client for far too long, so if that's you, don't beat yourself up over it.

This is one of those times where you have to choose YOU over the money. Money is NOT a finite resource. There's more of it where Toxic Tammy's came from.

But if you burn yourself out because Toxic Tammy sent all her Toxic friends to you, and now you're ready to throw in the towel...

It's time to bring in the firing squad and send them to another salon, probably in the next county over.

Imagine...

You could have all the tools you need to grow your business, even if you're starting from scratch...

There was a way to make more money in your salon without constantly hustling for clients...

You could finally come home to your family without bringing the stress of the salon with you...

You had a repeatable process to get clients through your door, day after day...

You could wake up every day excited to go to work, knowing you're getting paid what you're worth...

If you're currently an hourly or commission stylist and are desperately hoping to start your own thing in a suite or chair rental salon, this is for you! We give you all the tools and step-by-step formulas you need to hit the ground running in a profitable, peaceful way so you can finally have the time freedom and money you deserve.

Established Independent Stylists

Already working for yourself and having a hard time juggling business tasks while working in it? We'll help you find balance with the right strategies, goals, and pricing to get you making more money sooner rather than later - without scaring off your clients or working longer hours.

Brand New Stylists

I see that brand new shiny license you have there! Wouldn't it be great if you could venture out on your own and skip the learning curve of becoming a solo stylist? Zen Stylist Academy is like the business training you never got in school. You'll be lightyears ahead of your peers with confidence training, the Perfect Consultation, and the Boundary Builder (and a ton of other cool business tools inside the Zen Toolbox).

Basically, this is for you if:

You want to become a profitable independent stylist.

You know you want to work for yourself, but don't really know how to get started.

You've already rented a chair or suite but you're overwhelmed by doing hair + running a business.

You've started, but you're overwhelmed by constantly having to hustle for clients.

You want an easy, straightforward system to running a profitable, sustainable business in as little as 4 weeks.

On the flip side...

This is not for you if...

You’re looking for a magic bullet that will make you a six figure stylist overnight.

You prefer to crowdsource free groups rather than get real, actionable strategy from experts.

You’re not interested in starting, growing, or upleveling your business.

You like to move slowly and see a delayed return on your (time and money) investment.

Hi, I'm Crysta!

I'm a private salon owner and small business strategist who works with hair stylists and beauty professionals to help them sustainably launch and profitize their independent salon or suite so they can make more money with less stress.

My main hustle has always been hair, but I'm also a clairvoyant and past life regression therapist in my other practice, here in Knoxville, Tennessee, where I was born and raised. No, I can't see you through the screen or read your mind! Sorry!

But probably more relevant to you, I'm a Board Certified Haircolorist and private salon owner. Having made well over 3 million dollars in my career over the last 24 years, I know a few things that stylists like to pick my brain about. So now I'm busy sharing that knowledge with you and other stylists so you can get a leg up in this wonderful industry the right way.

Why I created this:

I wanted to package up what I've learned and share it with more stylists because I want to help people make more money in this industry like we were all promised - without burning out or giving up. And I wanted to help them achieve their dream of being a successful stylist - whatever success means to each individual person - without the frustration of figuring it all out on their own, like I did.

I also believe that finding a salon home is challenge - and that's why so many stylists choose the hardest route of all: self-employment. I wanted to share what I've learned because these fundamentals are NOT taught in beauty school, and I firmly believe that business skills are such a big part of this industry, that training should be included.

And I know that every stylist who dreams of being a successful business owner has the drive to be successful - they're just missing some vital information, and since I've learned it, I should be sharing it!

I'm introverted and quiet for a hairstylist. Will this still work for me?

Absolutely, yes! At first I thought I wasn't seeing success as a stylist because I'm introverted, too, and the public drained me - but I soon realized my introversion wasn't a problem at all. I created this entire program to be peaceful and profitable, without the crazy, gimmicky stuff that extroverts are happily doing (like insane social media campaigns - talk about draining).

Is there any human support included with this program?

Of course! For technical issues, you can always email me. You'll get monthly live coaching inside the Zen Stylists Facebook community, where you can ask all your questions and get support from me, and other students inside the Academy. And if you really get stuck, you'll have exclusive access to a one-time personal consulting session with me at a massively discounted rate, just for becoming a member of ZSA.

What happens after I buy? When and how do I get access to Zen Stylist Academy?

Once you submit your payment information, you'll be taken to a page with further instructions on how to access the program. These instructions, your purchase receipt, and login details will be emailed to you immediately. If you don't see them, please check your spam and junk folders, and whitelist Crysta@CrystaFoster.com so important info lands where it should.

Do you have a money-back guarantee?

Simply email me your homework (Goals workbook from module 1 and market research from module 5) within 14 days, and I'll personally help you work out the problem, or you'll get a 100% refund, no questions asked.

I've been a stylist for a long time. Will I still find value in your program?

Absolutely. ZSA has multiple resources to help you gain peace and resilience in this industry, covering topics that few other educators even speak about.

Does this only work for stylists? What about LMTs, estheticians, makeup artists, or nail techs? What about cosmetology students?

Zen Stylist Academy was created specifically for independent stylists and stylists looking to become independent - because that's my personal experience and expertise.

The principles inside the program can be applied to others in the beauty industry, but there are many topics and strategies that I haven't personally tested outside of hair. With that being said, I do teach sound and proven business principles inside ZSA, so you will find value there - it's just not created specifically for you.

If you are a cosmo student, and having a solo salon is in your immediate future, ZSA will help. If you are still unsure whether this program will work for you, please email me and I'll do my best to help you.

I'm not tech savvy. Will I still be able to use this program?

Yes! There's nothing "techy" about this program that you either don't already use regularly (like your phone and email), or can't use with the tutorials inside the course. All you need to do is follow directions! No extra equipment, subscriptions, or devices needed.

I don't have the funds for this right now. Can I join ZSA later?

Sure. Zen Stylist Academy is always open for enrollment, but you'll miss out on some valuable free bonuses if you wait. (Like Fast Action Clients, where I show you how to get new clients in your chair as fast as possible.)

What if I purchase Zen Stylist Academy but decide it's not for me?

Simply email me your homework within 14 days, and let me know why you think ZSA isn't a good fit for you, and I'll personally help you work out the problem with a free strategy call. If we can't work it out, I'll refund your money no questions asked.

I'm already worn out at the end of the day, and my free time is limited. How long does this program take?

You get lifetime access to the program, so you can go through each part when needed, at your own pace. I recommend spending 20-30 minutes a day going through the course material; the principles can all be applied during the course of your work day, because that's when they'll make the biggest difference for you.

Got Questions? I've Got Answers!

14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

If Zen Stylist Academy truly does not help you get your solo salon off the ground and become more profitable, simply email us your completed Goals Workbook and your market research for Module 5 within 14 days of purchase, and we'll issue you a full refund.

After those 14 days, you just have to hang out with us! (But we know you'll love it!)
