How do spirits or ghosts exist if souls reincarnate?

Because we (individually) are part of a larger soul collective. Bodies are too small and clunky to contain your entire spirit, so it fragments. That's how you can live multiple lives at the same time, and it's also how you can know your late grandmother has reincarnated as your child, but a medium can still communicate with your grandmother from the other side.
